I’m writing a book about inducing lactation, and I need your help…

For several years I’ve been interested in, and personally engaged in, inducing lactation.  I’ve assisted mothers who were inducing lactation to feed their adopted child, women who were inducing lactation as part of their romantic relationship, and women who induced as a solo experiment and experience.  Through these experiences I realized that there are a number of excellent websites which cover inducing lactation for the purposes of feeding a child, some which address inducing lactation for adult enjoyment, and very few which address inducing lactation solo.   This fragmentation means inducing women often miss out on valuable information- many adoptive moms don’t think to ask their partner to nurse during the induction process, adults inducing with a partner may miss out on the tips and tricks nursing and pumping moms learn, and women inducing solo may feel alienated by sites dedicated to the “beautiful gift of milk for your baby” or “intimacy building nursing sessions with your partner.”

There are no books or websites that address the topic of inducing lactation, regardless of motivation, as a whole.  I’m currently in the early stages of researching and outlining a book dedicated to the topic.  My goal is to present scientifically supported evidence in a way that’s accessible and fun to read, and also to include the wisdom and experiences of people who have induced lactation.

I’m raising funds to allow me to work full-time on the book and website InducingLactation.org for 2 months (without starving), to purchase or gain access to research materials and studies, to purchase a camera and make better videos specific to the inducing process, to pay for appropriate hosting for videos and imagoes, and print hard copies of the book (when completed).  You can find my GoFundMe Page at  gofundme.com/inducinglactation  There are 9 awesome reward for donors as well!  I hope you’ll help to support this project, even a few dollars helps.
